POWERFLUSHING central heating system

The installer manually flushed our system and added SM3 cleanser and TSSM1 inhibitor and according to the Commissioning checklist the system was flushed and cleaned in accordance with BS7593 and boiler manufacturers instructions - so all the SM3 would have been flushed out of the system prior to the TSSM1 being added.
Our installer is Vaillant approved (hence getting a 5 year warranty with our boiler - received the paperwork from vaillant after the installation), and im 100% happy with way that he flushed the system as per the manufacturers requirements
what can you not understand about my bold point the system must be flushed before the new boiler is fitted not after, so it hasn't been flushed to any BS number or as required by the manuI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

I fully understood your bold point (I never mentioned that the manual flush was carried out after the new boiler was fitted!), the installer flushed out the system using the old boiler (not the new boiler as you seem to have assumed!), then added the tssm1 chemical...
I mentioned that the magnaclean was cleaned out a couple of times after the new boiler was fitted by the installer and then a couple of times since by me..... I will be checking the magnaclean every so often until most of the gunge that is floating round the system has been caught by the magnaclean......0 -
Its a Vaillant...
Regarding the quite a bit coming out when the installer fitted it - im guessing that there would still be some stuck in the rads/pipes etc that got dislodged after the system was run (hence being advised to check the magnaclean and clean out as necessary...
Im also guessing that to clean the system fully (been told by the wife who was in when they installed the boiler that the water that came out when the first started to flush the system was totally black and they left it flushing out until it came out clear - but they still cleaned out the magnaclean (twice) once the system had been run)
yeh ok....................I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

TBH it doesn't bother me in the slightest, it's not my boiler & I wasn't the one doing the job, but I can't quite understand why you aren't more concerned that your installer has filled up your shiney new boiler with aload of crapI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

We had a Powerflush carried out this week by PowerflushUK, i got their details off this forum. I can not speak highly enough of the job. Our system is 10+ years old with 14 radiators some not working 100%. After the flush the radiators are all working fine. Bgas quoted in excess of £2k for this job - let's be honest we know they are going to be one of the highest. My normal plumber wanted £1,200. PowerflushUK was the best quote. The 2 guys turned up before 8 am and worked solidly and left after 4 pm, so a full days work. Also produced a cert confirming what was in my system etc, guarantee and advice for the future. I would highly recommend them - they are based in Leics and London but work nationally and Powerflushing is all that they do - so experts.0

ianthy: type of pipework eg. plastic /copper, microbore/15mm? How much did you pay and in what part of the UK? Your normal plumber wanted £1200? We'd charge a basic £299 for a 7 rad system (standard pipework/radiator valves) plus £25 for each additional radiator.0

Hiya,
We have been enperiencing severe problems with our heating and a powerfkush was recommended. We had a quote today of £480 inc fitting the magnetic filter thingys (we have 3 rads downstairs - which seem to be the main problem and 4 upstairs). Looking at what others have said on here this seems to be an okayish quote but just wanted to check if anyone could advise at all. (we are near London so pay a premium on all services)

That's a good quote you got there GemnJam if it included the magnate filter. Does that include VAT??
I am looking for a good and reliable heating engineer who can offer me a similar quote in Woking area.
Anyone know of one please message me.0 -
