Going to Tuscany in the summer, just looking to book flights and the best deals (cost and conveniance) would be to fly to one airport and return from another. Not great distances, Pisa and Florence or possible Perugia.

Would I be able to hire a car at one airport and return to another? How much extra am I likely to be charged?

It cost me ~£50 to do it between Luton & Heathrow with Avis.

You can plug your own numbers into their website & get a quote

Any particular reason? I find them cheaper than holiday autos for the times/places I hire

I used Hertz about a year or two ago. Picked up in Stanstead airport, returned to East Midlands airport. No additional charge.
