Sky Box....card needed??

Hello all...
i have a sky dish on our roof but no sky box...
i can get hold of a sky box, but would i correct in thinking that i can plug the box in without the card and receive the basic free channels????

You'll get amongst others BBC1/2/3/4/CBBC/CBeebies/ITV3 without a card - you will need one of the £20 cards from https://www.freesatfromsky.com to get ITV1/2/C4/C5There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't
