Deposit refund

Hi there,

I'm new to this and not sure if i'm posting in correct location.

Back in October 2007 I paid a £500 deposit to pitman training to do one of their courses. When i went to start the course i arrived at an unoccupied building and when i called they said they had lost the contract on premisis and hadn't informed me of this (i took a day off work to attend!) Obviously i wasn't very happy. When they finally got round to finding new premisis i'd chaged jobs and also spent time in hospital and didn't feel well enough or as financially stable to start the course (on top of being messed around by them!) I told them i did not wish to start the course and asked my rights with regard to a refund. I was told i would get most of the £500 back minus their expenses. Tons of e-mails and phone calls later and i've still received nothing despite being told i would be refunded on so many occassions! What should i do i just want the money back and to get the case closed.

Many thanks in advance.

Faye

i would fire a letter to them via recorded deliery stating they failed to provide the course on the date they agreed and failed to inform you costing you 1 days wages.
so i would request/demand the refund the £500 in full as any costs they incurred as their problem given they failed to provide the course on the specified date/location.
inform them they have 14 days to provide the refund or you will start court proceedings
inform them that in going to court you wil claim for the deposit, lost wages and any other costs incurred
