What should I do with my old Apple Mac Plus?

We are trying to de-clutter and so I feel it is time to part with my Apple Mac Plus which I bought (with my parents' help) in 1988/9 to write my PhD thesis. I have a feeling it cost around £1000 at the time. I even had the RAM upgraded from 1MiB to 4MiB - wow!
Anyone have any suggestions?
Is it worth trying eBay? - can't seem to find anything quite like it on there at the moment.
Is anyone likely to want it on Freecycle it or just take it to the tip?
Any other suggestions?
It has a cute black and white screen and was working fine the last time I turned it on.
And it still has Tetris on it (remeber that?) - which was probably responsible for taking so long to write my thesis!

Yes, try ebay. You may not get a lot for it but I was on a forum recently where someone was bragging that they picked up a cheap mac computer for under £30 because the person selling it didn't know its true worth. It was one of those yellow\blue\green\orange ones with a monitor and a keyboard. I don't know what yours is, but if its even slightly collectable (and all macs seem to be) then you may do quite well out of it.
That post I was reading in the forum seemed to sugest that macs retain a certain level of value. So search ebay for completed listings and see how much your model has sold for in the past. Then sit back and see how much you can sell it for
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
I have looked on eBay, but there is only one listing of something similar (even including completed listings) and that is one being offered for £15 BIN, so I wasn't sure it was worth the effort.
By the way, my Mac Plus looks like the one in the picture here:

Or just keep it in the attic until, it's an antique. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
IIRC there was someone on the avforums.co.uk who turned something similar into a standalone touchscreen mp3 player. My point is, you don't know what people are actually looking for. There maybe someone out there a 'mac fan' maybe whose looking for just such a terminal and is even now scouring ebay in a bid to find such a device

someone will want it somewhere. About 15 years ago we were given an apple 2E which I used to write on as it has a printer with it.
The kids were quite young then and they liked the simple games on it. It was a good introduction to computing. There was no mouse and the only place who would sell one wanted £70 so if you have any peripherals, they may be worth thinking about selling as seperates.0 -
I'd eBay it - bear in mind that even though there isn't anything comparable to your Mac on there at the moment, it doesn't mean there won't be someone out there who wants it!
Au Res.,
