Buy a pot or a moneybank that can't be opened and join the £2 saver club, if its sealed you can't get in to spend it.

Or what about asking someone to save the money for you, give them a certain amount each week and ask them to keep it for you and not to let you have it under any circumstances. Tell them what your saving for and tell them to give it to you then,

I have a £2 teddy which i use for holidays and pay into a christmas club each week. I don't worry about christmas any more cos i save for it through the year,
  • keep a note of everything you buy per month and have it so you can see the total rising, it will put you off buying things you don't need, even little things, because you know you'll have to write it down and see your monthly spend total go up when you get back in!

I did this for Feb but not for March, I saved £300 more in Feb ;)
  • Work out how much you spend in a month, add a little bunce for the unexpected and to treat yourself. Then from whats left pick a sensible amount. Set up a regular savings account and have the money go straight into your savings account every month the day after you get paid. You could get one where you need to give 30 days notice to withdraw if you have really crap will power.

I transfer £400 a month now to my brothers savings account, so I cant get a hold of it, and I pay off my debt at the same time, but when I have enough in the savings (which will be in july) I will be paying the total of my debt off, and I have gone from 21k to 2k in 2 years! :)

I'vw joined the thrift club at work. I pay in £20 pw and am too embarrassed to ask for it until it's due- Nov. It lasts for a year and is our holiday fund. We are saving this way for 2 years with sep. account for spending money, then having along haul holiday! I can't wait!!!
