Slowdown in Scotland - Anyone Else Think This?

I put my flat up for sale 4 weeks ago. Its in a very sought after area, A1 condition and interior A1. We have always been told by people that we would get rid of our flat in a week. We have had no-one serious put in an offer so have withdrawn it off the market. When I told the EA this (well known agent) they couldnt have cared less. It was very matter of fact. To be honest I was waiting for them to persuade me to stay but not a whimper! Is anyone else in central Scotland noticed a slowdown or should I start worrying?!!!!Compared to last year when there were about 100 properties on their books, this year there must be at least double if not more. They did say everyone had the same problem and the flats for sale before ours are still for sale.

Are you in Edinburgh? I am and the two basement flats below me have been on sale for at least 2 months, but then I know one of them is £190k (for a 1 bedroom basement flat with tiny garden!) so perhaps not that surprising that no one has put in an offer."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

Scotland's a big place ...... edit your profile to contain your location .. pwwwweasssse
Here's a reply I made previously on this subject.
In addition, two other properties in that same location both were up for sale: one looks to have gone through after 8 months the other withdrawn after being FS for a similar period of time.
Are the properties you're after selling well? Or are they sluggish too?0 -
There's a street round the corner from near me (MAnchester) and when you look up it from one end it looks like every house is up for sale its hillarious, its been like that for months now.0

I live in South Lanarkshire. I must admit all houses in that area are not selling. Its in a desirable vilage without giving the name away. Whether large houses or small flats, all the properties that were on the webistes 3 months ago seem to all still be there. I think I will wait til next Feb/March and put it back up (selling myself this time as I am on a main road although set back from it) and I believe this is when things pick up in the New Year. Thanks for the feedback.0

B*stards!! When did they move Manchester to Scotland? Doesn't matter, I'm not going shopping there again - it's too far. Did they move the Trafford Centre as well?nelly wrote: There's a street round the corner from near me (MAnchester) and when you look up it from one end it looks like every house is up for sale its hillarious, its been like that for months now.
And ... nelly ... hate to mention it, but all those people trying to move from being near you ... erm, how can I put this? :eek:0 -
I live in Ayrshire and have noticed a slight slow down in the market, properties are taking 3-4 weeks to sell rather than the usual 2 weeks (thats in a good area). More properties are going to a fixed rate, which indicates less interest as previously prices were going through the roof for all types of properties.Waddle you do eh?0

Property moving very slowly in Perthshire. My neighbour is a solicitor and tells me he is glad just to get things off his books. Of course the house I decided to try and go for sold in 4 days but that's just my luck really!0

Really? Seriously? Where do you live?suki1964 wrote:Im in the south and luckily where I live houses are still going the week they go up
In my neck of the woods the same 200 or so properties on Rightmove have been there for about 12 months. Edging down by the odd 5K here and there.
No major drops yet, but then, none of us can know what these places are going for until they come up on nethouseprices.0
