cheap overnight hotel near plymouth?

hi, could anyone tell me where i could get a cheap hotel or travel lodge for 1 night only. We'll have our holiday in France and coming back our ferry will arrive in Plymouth at around 10pm. We are from Scotland and will be a long drive if we drive straight here from Plymouth..

Any advise will highly be appreciated..thanks:beer:

If you go to the Travelodge website you can look on their map.
  • The travelodge at derrys cross is about 1/2 a mile from the ferryport - it also has a large multi-storey acc the road - This is probably your best bet if you dont know the area

That travelodge is in the city centre and the car park a city centre public one.I'm not so sure I would want to leave all my holiday gear in a city centre car park. If you don't want to go so central try Travelodge, Saltash. It is technically Cornwall - just across the toll bridge from Plymouth - but if you get a cheaper room and want to avoid central Plymouth it will be worth it. The Saltash one is older and the Plymouth one new in the past few years.

There are also a few Premier Travel Inns and B and Bs in the area but they are not, generally, as cheap.

Or, you can stop on the M5 on the way down. Perhaps Exeter.

I would suggest the Premier Inn at Plymouth East. It has its own parking.
It is right on the A38 roundabout, just follow the signs for Exeter from the ferry port to get out of town. There is a large Sainsburys opposite with a restaurant, so you can have a good breakfast before you set off for Scotland.
