Single parent holidays

I have recently seperated from my wife and would like to take my 6 year old son on holiday in the sun.
Does anyone have any advice on where to go where he can have fun and I can also have a nice time maybe with some other single parents?

Have to say that everytime I have looked at single parent organisations, their holidays seem just waaaayyy too expensive.
Maybe we should just organise our own, lol.0 -

Try pricing up holidays for 2 adults rather than an adult and a child, and you might find it works out cheaper.
I was a single parent with 2 sons, and we went on holiday in a 1 bedroom apartment. It was cheaper going as 3 adults than an adult and two children due to the way the occupancy supplements worked. Here I go again on my own....0 -
If you can tolerate the Uk - Centerparcs is ideal for a child of that age and as there are only two of you, you can just get a one bedroom apartment. I took my son there age 6 when I split and he absolutely loved it. So much so that we have been four times since. You might not get the weather but you dont need it there.0

First Choice do holidays where you only pay for an adult if your taking children on your own, i think Thomson do too.0

Try Travel Republic as I did get a good deal on there. There is a discount code on the board but it may have expired, but you could try it. Like mentioned above, put down as two adults instead of an adult and one child. Or price up a holiday on Travel Republic and try and book it all independently and check on here for discount codes or Google etc. Try Skyscanner for flights. If you are going abroad see about a Nationwide Flex account for taking money out and Nationwide Credit card for spending abroad also. Good Luck, hope you find somewhere nice for yourself and your son.
Have you got dates and a specific airport you'd like to leave from.
Had a quick look and you could get two weeks at the beginning of July in the Algarve, self catering in Albufeira, flights from Gatwick, transfers, travel light one bag all in for about £610/£620. Basic but it gets you to the sun for a fortnight.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0
