Hi guys looking for some advice.
I got a clip i wanna edit and in certain parts i would like to go straight to a white blank page with writing on it, but unsure on how to do this with windows movie maker.
Also i would like to cut the whole sound out and then add music of mine own, i know how to add music but will this then take all the background noise out?
If there is another peice of software i shall use, or any help in the above please let me know
Many Thanks

It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0

Very easy in movie maker.
Split the clip up using "clip - split". Split it where you want to place text.
Use "tools - titles" to add a titles in the gaps where you want them. If you select "add title before/after clip" it will then appear with a fixed colour background of your choice.
Import audio and drop it into the audio track. You can crop it and shift it.
You can mute the original audio, or adjust its level, or use the "tools - audio levels" to adjust the mix.
I found movie maker to be very intuitive.
Using left click you can grab bits and move them. Clicking at the start/finish allows you to trim clips. Use right click on items and you usually get a list of effects/options. You can push clips onto the adjacent clips to give you blends.
You can also copy and paste the clip audio over to the extra audio channel.
I've re edited sound tracks in the audio panel - looping bits and snipping out bits. It's a very versatile piece of software, though it does crash quite a lot.Happy chappy0 -
Be very very careful with Windows Movie Maker, it gets very volitile when you start making videos with more than about 20 cuts etc. It eats processor time and RAM.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

I've been using it to make 10 minute videos with, say, 50 cuts in them. It can be unstable. Just make sure you save it every now and again and don't do too many operations too quickly. It will autosave (setting in options) and won't respond when doing that. It also quite commonly will play and lose track in the storyboard, but then recover itself.Happy chappy0

thanks worked a treat
How to i change the image that the file is saved on? It's about 15secs into the video but i would like to save the video and the image you see first in the first frame of the video. Hope this makes sence.0 -
I don't know, but will have a look to see if I can work it out.Happy chappy0

Put that clip at the start, but cut it so that it is say 1/60 of a second long, so no-one will see it when the video is playing. Make sense?Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

Just out if interest-why do camcorders need a "firewire" input to work, when movies taken on my Ixus dont, yet appear to play perfectly, sound as well?0
