Bought a newlaptop for my kids today - it says it is wireless but the wireless light not on and when I try and put my aol broadband disk in it says it is not set up for wireless

Any ideas where I find out on the menu whether it is wireless enabled??
Thanks in advance!

BROWNTOA - it's a factory refurbishd e-system - was cheap from Dixons - is just for the kids!
Thanks for replying! Will look for a switch!0 -
Sometimes there's a a function key combination that turns on the wireless - the function key (fn key usually bottom left of the keyboard) and the F2 key pressed at the same time is popular! Look for a symbol like a lit candle on the keys....0

I'd ignore whatever a disk from aol tells you and just set it up normally through windows own or the laptops own wireless manager0

got the feeling they hide the manual for the laptop on the HDD, its a PDF file
look under "start" then All Programs for help and support or user manualEx forum ambassador

Please don't use AOL! It has to be the worst, klunkiest browser in the mass market. It throws so many popups at you, you can't find your minimised windows, and it doesn't let you close it down. If you're connected to broardband via WiFi, just use IE or firefox, and a mail client for your emails. I have AOL as an ISP but have kept well clear of the AOL software since I went broardband.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0
