Insurance tracked and due to pay in July. The guys at work told me to bet fiver on five horses in grand national and one of them was comply or die!! So I now have 50 in my betfair account and 25 due from Betfair for free bet and then 30 through quidco! So 105 for nothing really. V chuffed. Moving it across into my extra income pot and 75 can go towards the 10 a day challenge.

I only count money which is actually cleared and in my account rather than tracking, due to pay out etc.

Busy ebay day today, we have lots to sort out so better get cracking. Snow is v heavy here. Looks very picturesque.

keep chipping away at the debt soph. little bits here and there do gradually build up and making small goals like your sub 17k will make you feel like you're getting somewhere.

thank goodness at 26 you're young enough and sensible enought to have realised the debt was a millstone - as many people are in total denial before things get totally out of control.

between you and your boyfriend the two of you can sort this - yes it may take some time but you'll get there.- and you have a fantastic attitude towards it all. Debt can either make you sink or swim and it looks like you're swimming.

have a great week and i'll bookmark your log so i can keep track of your progress - pls keep posting - even if people don't respond - after new year we had a flurry of newbies who started threads that were really interesting and then just stopped posting after a couple of posts. I wonder how their debt management is coming on - not as good as yours i spose.

    keeeep posting:T

Thank you v much!! :j So nice to get some encouragement. I know what you mean about the posts, seems lots of new diaries which I think is fantastic to keep people on track and motivated. Just a shame when they don't keep going. I will be posting everyday, we had OH's ds for the Easter holidays and I never got a chance to go near my laptop!!

I'm doing some ebay at the moment while I catch up on the soaps I had no time to watch last week.

Oh and be smug with the OH about me having a win on the horses! He's not impressed. Lol.

Hi Sophie, just read your thread, well done on all your debt-busting so far. :)
Just one question, which you needn't answer if it seems too personal; why is a fit 26YO paying £25 every month for private health insurance?

Good question! I saw on here about the Pru Health offer where if you took out the policy, you got gym membership free. From next month, for 25 quid I get private health care and free gym which would normally be at least 70 a month on its own. My OH wants to get fit so he took up offer too and we now go to the gym together. Not bothered about the policy, its the gym offer I was after.

Aha - I wondered if it was the Pru gym/healthcare offer. Fair enough if you make a lot of use of the gym, so that it works out even cheaper than the local council facilities. Keep a close eye on it though, in case they increase the cost or reduce the benefits, making it uneconomical. Or if you stop going to the gym. ;)

Hi Sophie - just wanted to add my support. You are doing brilliantly so far and not long now till you are sub 17k. Have you put your debts into the snowball calculator yet to get your debt free date - I find that a brilliant motivator. x x x

Hi Penguin, thanks so much! :D I have, it said 26 months if I don't count the bonus I get every Feb. I'm going challenge mad at the moment though (ebay, 10 a day and comping) and hope to bring that down a bit. And if I keep away from the shops. Its no fun having your office sitting on top of an underground shopping centre.

I feel awful! Off sick today. Can't stay still though and thought would stick on a film and sorted out my paperwork. Update my spreadsheets and do a bit of comping. Hate just lying in bed, tend to get better when pottering about.

Not even had the tv on yet, must be bad!
