My gran has an lg tv with integrated freeview, with a generic hard disk . dvd recorder. The recorder will only pick up the analogue channels.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get it to see the freeview channels ? Don't say buy and extra freeview box and connect it by SCART !
I don't think the tv has any outputs; it can only receive inputs.
This has wider implications for the full digital switchover - anyone without a separate digibox will not be able to record freeview channels.

I'm sorry, but if the TV has no outputs, then there is no way to record off it!Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

connect it via scart sockets0

Check the TV again. It may have outputs hidden under a flap of some sort. If you can tell me the model I could look it up for you or you can do it yourself. They must have a website. Most TV's have outputs of some description. I'm an AV tech of over fourteen years so am more than happy to help.
my own website is https://www.multimediatech.co.uk you can catch me there.

My mum has the same problem. She bought a Sharp television with integrated freeview and we tried all sorts to record freeview on to her video recorder.Gave up and got out an expert who confirmed that the way it was made means it is impossible to do so.She therefore records analogue on that one,but in her bedroom where she has another television and video,we bought her a freeview box and that is now set up to record only freeview.Bit long winded as she records in there if need be then brings the video through to the lounge to play on that one!!(it is a bungalow so not too bad!!) but at 78 has grasped the concept of it and is quite happy,as she has never wanted to bother with sky.We have a sky plus and would never go back to videos!!0
