    Hi kat4,

    Welcome to MSE.

Once SSP entitlement runs out, the employer should issue an SSP1 form in order for your husband to claim Incapacity Benefit. His eligibility for IB will depend on how much he has paid in NI Contributions over the past few years.

Do you work also? Do you have any children? x

SSP is paid for 28 weeks. His employers should have issued an ssp1 form so he can claim IB at around week 23 as he'll need this before the jobcentre will process his IB/IS claim. He should get on to his employers first thing tomorrow and tell them it's urgent. He should also ring the Jobcentre to make his claims for IB/IS and Housing/Council Tax Benefit.

If he was getting WTC he needs to let HMRC know straight away as he's no longer entitled to this once his ssp has ended.
I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!
