Can I turn Googlemail spam filter off?

I use Outlook and have just gone to gmail via IE only to find a load of emails that have been classed as spam. This is really annoying as I hardly ever check it, hence Outlook.

I couldn't find anything to turn the spam filter off! I'm assuming you can do it?

I think your assumption is incorrect. Google knows what is best for you!

You could see if a combination of filters and labels is workable. Or look to using IMAP.

You need only worry about the spam folder only if there are false positives in there - otherwise, just ignore it. The mails in there get deleted once they've been in there about 30 days.
