R reg corsa - Electronic fault

Used my car for the first time in a fortnight on Saturday morning (been off Uni so not needed it). Only went up the road to Tesco's. Was fine when I left home but when I turned my engine back on to come back the electronic fault symbol was lit up, and stayed on all the way home.

I understand I'll need a diagnostic check? Been quoted £15-20 from a friend of a friend, is this a good price? Haven't rang round yet, too worried about how much it's gonna end up costing.

When I first got my car a few months ago I parked up, turned my engine off then realised my wheels needed straigtening up. Miss Stupid here didn't turn on the engine, just turned the steering wheel and everything locked, ever since my imobiliser hasn't worked. Could it be to do with this, a loose wire or something?

I'm really hoping it's not going to be anything too pricey!
