Help! Where is my summer E.M.A bonus?

Hello Folks

Last Year I completed my first year at college doing a business course -I worked extremely hard and am proud to have achieved a distintion throughout every assignement set.

Now,

I was entitled to £20 a week from E.M.A - both my mom and dad are very hard working people and we never go without.

The EMA worked out very good - However i was told that I was to get a EMA summer bonus at the start of July but never got it.

I called the college who told me that it has been logged on the system that my EMA bonus was sent but It has not gone in my account???

When i call the EMA helpline i am told that my summer bonus has been put on the system and should have gone in the bank.

What should I do??, I am not no lazy chav who wants something for nothing - I am a hard working student who is trying to save towards a laptop (Although i have a wonderful Dell Dimension 8400 *got it in the December sale, 3.4ghz, 2GB ram, 256mb Graphics, 17'' Ultrasharp) :j

Firstly, call the bank and make sure that it has definately not gone into your account, it may come in today, or may have come in before and you just didnt realise.

If its definately not there, then call the EMA helpline again, check the details they hold as they may have the wrong account details for instance, and they can check with thier own accounts department where the money is - they should check with their bank and it should determine where yours was sent to. Have you recently changed bank accounts or anything?

If they have the wrong account details, it is often the case that the money was sent to your bank, but is being held in a 'holding account' which is where random money they cant identify the owner of is held. Once it is determined (usually by several phonecalls!) then they transfer it to your account.

The EMA people should be able to track it, just check your bank again today and see what is there and whether there was a payment for that amount in the last month or so, and then it is the EMA responsibility to track the money, which they should be able to do in the accounts dept!
