Got a pair of trainers on ebay and thought why pay high street prices when get cheaper on ebay but problem is how do i know if i got real ones or fake, they look good and i hope the are the real ones but how can you tell if they are fake are there any signs.
They are i think supposed to be double the price in high street but needed to know how one can tell as there are so many people to buy from and who knows they maybe just buy them in the thousands which allows the cost to come down.

Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

u,ll find that they are fake but u,ll be hard pressed to find any difference from the ones in shop.I guess thats because these so called fakes are made either by the same ppl that make it for companys like nike and addidas (a kind of a bit on the side) or by ppl from the same part of the country who are able to copy everything to nearest stich.I thk they made in china where u got hundereds of companys all specialized in making trainers.0

Hi All
I sell lots of trainers on ebay all my trainers are 100% authentic.
Yes some seller sell fakesbut most don't.
If you are worried then ask the seller for a copy of the certificate of authenticity.
Each supplier should supply you with one of these when you place an order

Fakes are few and far between so there's more chance that they are genuine. Fakes in trainers are rare, the Quality levels and the many different distinctive parts of them make them unattractive to copy financially. It is perceivable that manufacturer's could put out unfinished second's to back street outfits that often put finishing touches to them and and then sell them on, this happens in lots of things, especially branded clothing.
I buy and sell trainers on ebay too(have been for 5 years now), I have yet to come across a pair of fakes but believe there probably are some about. I don't think it a massive problem as I have said counterfeiting trainers are probably not that cost efficient to reproduce and sell on.
What type of trainers are they? Have you got the ebay sale number so we can have a look, may be able to put your mind at rest.
Did you get the original box? (although I have sold many without boxes). If they have come without a box they may be from TKMaxx, I've bought loads from there and sold them on for a profit. It's not unusual to come across an expensive pair of trainers for £20 in there if you know what to look for, makes very good profit, I've sold some in excess of £100 before.0 -
i hate to say it but i think that you will find nearly all the nikes being sold on ebay are indeed fakes.and only costing around 20 quid a pair to buy..i know as ive been stung on a fake pair..and i have also been told theres alot of fakes..hundreds..how you will tell i do not know.unless they r faulty etc0

I have bought 9x pairs of nikes from ebay, not one pair was counterfeit.
I have sold around 80 pairs of trainers and none of them where fake either? Some for as little as £20. Infact i have just sold a pair the other day for £21. They cost me £7 from TKMaxx!
There is a simple way to tell if you have received fakes. You go into a shop that sells them and compare.
Now I am not saying there are no fakes but what I do know is they are few and far between.0 -
The only way to find out is to wear them, the shox I bought off ebay lasted 3 months and then started to fall apart, yet at first them appeared the genuine article, and they even came in a nike box, so it does come back to the same old thing, you get what you pay for.0

Shugster, could it be you had a dodgey pair? I have just had a look at the first two pages on ebay for nike shox and there doesn't see be one pair of counterfeit trainers for sale there( therte could well be amongst the total pages). I've had trainers fail on me Quite early too. What is it that made yours counterfeit? Or where they perhaps seconds?
Anyone concerned with fake items should use the ebay forums, research your product and the sellers feedback. Too many people complain that that items are fake when most of the time they aren't. It's relatively easy to spot fakes and fake sellers.
If in the end anyone is unhappy then complain, return items and chargeback.
IF the OP comes back, please post the item no. or the sellers ID so we can have a look.0 -
I bought a pair of trainers off ebay a couple of weeks back from hong-kong, received them in about 4 days - and they're fantastic. The trainers themselves are rare (part of an artists series by DC Shoe Co) and as such extremely unlikely to be counterfit - they cost me the same to buy as a pair of standard DC Shoes would - and have been sold out since 02 - some of these sellers must have huge amounts of deadstock sat around in warehouses and suchlike.....First name Mister

i know there are people selling fake nike air jordans on ebay.i used too be a bit of a sneaker freak and can spot most of them from there ebay piics.you will find that some are poor copys and others are identicle to the real item as they are made after working hours by the employees or they just make up more pairs than the company required, thats when they end up on places like ebay.
i once sold a pair of 1989 original authentic nike air jordan 4's for £500! to someone in canada.they are quite collectable,i would suggest you scour the second hand shops for these, you could be lucky!0
