I went Bankrupt in April 07'. Opened a basic account with nationwide that was fine, but now i would like an account with a debit card not a credit but debit card to use online etc.... tried nationwide they said no.
I tried to do credit check with experian (and earn a bit thru quidco at the same time) but they want a flipping card number.
Any suggestions......

Citibank!! I'm 99% certain you'll be able to get a full current account with them. It comes standard with full VISA debit card.0

how did you get on?0

If OP is still bankrupt he/she stands no chance until he/she has been discharged.
Even then it will be difficult with most banks to open a current account with full facilities.0 -
yep we're up and running thanks :beer:You know your getting old when yougo to the pub sit outsideand admire the hanging basket

Well i really dont get that. I have one CCJ (Cleared) from 3 years ago, and a couple of defaults (nearly cleared now) I have just been accepted for an A&L account, and given an overdraft (only £100 though) but is a full account with a Visa. I applied for Citi Bank, and they have just turned me down!!!! Didnt even ask for an overdraft!
I also have a Lloyds Basic account, a Natwest Step Account and a Halifax account. Could this be why?0 -
I too recently applied for a citibank account as was turned down, similar position 1 ccj (satisfied) and 2 defaults (satisfied):mad:Last Cigarette 24/6/090
