Green Flag Assistance
OH has one of the Barclays Additions Plus accounts which includes Green Flag membership (it is a joint a/c but we have one 'joint' a/c each) - according to the T&C's it appears to cover every scenario including breakdowns at home. Currently we have RAC membership, I switched from the AA when RAC brought in their "no claims bonus" but this Green Flag looks tempting.
My only query is 'how good are Green Flag?' has anyone any experience of them - good or bad?
Advice appreciated
Thanks
Mark

I've had Green Flag for 5 years. Used them 3 times. Perfect service each time. On one occasion we had the family loaded up in the car off to a festival for the weekend. The exhaust came loose from the car on the dual carriageway! I dragged it off a sliproad and called GreenFlag. We'd written off the festival. 40min later the mechanic arrived. We were sulking at how the weekend was already over etc. but he went out of his way to make it good so we could carry on. It lasted into the next week for a new one. Cant complain at that!
I had AA for many years previously which was also as good, but not as good priced.*************************

Thanks to both of you for the last two posts. As we've only has one AA/RAC callout in the last five years I'll give Green Flag a go.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0

I have a tatty old Proton and have been with Greenflag (free with the insurance) for years and called them out three times, always friendly and helpful but they can take a while to get to you. Hubbie's car is with the AA on a freebie, we called them out a couple of weeks ago when the exhaust dropped off car. We were up near Appleby in the middle of nowhere. AA arrived in 20mins and actually fixed the exhaust so we could get home. Chap was lovely, knew exactly what to do. Recommend both.0

Green flag do not have there own fleet of repair/recovery vehicles they rely on local garages therefore the service you get varies.Eg you might get a Ist class mechanic you might get the local weekend Lad.Unlike AA/RAC whose staff who are trained to a high standard.
With Green Flag you only get the first hours labour free. After that you start getting charged!!!Where as if it took a couple of hours with say the AA it would be free.
Green flag will only recover your vehicle if car cant be repaired by the end of a working day.Where as if AA cant arrange a prompt repair they will recover it.PF.0 -
I have used Green Flag twice and both times they were great.0
