Return to invoice insurance

I've recently bought a 3 yr old car and was offered 'Return to Invoice' insurance by the dealer. Havnt come across this before -anyone any experience of it? is it worth thinking about? - any good deals out there? - Is my dealers offer competitive - £300 for 3 yrs cover?

my neighbour wrote off his 2 1/2 yr old car [ does 100,000 miles a year]
his insurance co offered rubbish payout cos of the high mileage
he just claimed off the rti for the difference.....no problem and got what he originally paid for it.
only works on cars under 7 yrs old and only if it is 'total loss'
we paid £299 for my sons Astra sports as he'd paid £6000, only works out at £2 a week to cover for 3 years and as he wrote his last car off, we know how 'helpful' the ins companies are at settling a sensible figure!

Don't buy from the dealer, they are on commission for this type of product.

Google for GAP insurance or 'back to invoice insurance'. You should find a much better deal.

I did a GAP for my car a couple of years ago with surf and protect. Same deal as the car salesman offer, hell of a lot cheaper!
