Hi we have a dell pc. This morning switiching on pc it came up with keyboard failure .. then asks you to press F1 which you cant because keyboard failed.. we bought new keyboard still the same
saying Drive 0 not found : seriel ATA, SATA-0
Strike the F1 key to continue, f2 to run set up utility
if you leave it on it sometimes goes through the motions and goes to the log on page but the mouse doenst move looks like its frozen.
we still cant do anything with the pc
any ideas of what we can do
thanks

Start/all programms/accessories/accessability/on-screen keyboard.
This will at least give you access to the *F* keys.0 -
if they can't get into windows they can't do anything with the on screen keyboard. The problem isn't with the software but seems as though the motherboard might be goosed.
You need to try and hit F2 to get into the BIOS and make sure your hard drives are still set up in there. it's possible the CMOS battery could have gone so it isn't remembering the settings, including the USB ports and disabled them which has disabled the mouse. Although that could be difficult if the keyboard is USB as well.0 -

There seems to be a bigger issue here
This is your computer telling you it cannot find the hard drive. Without the hard drive you wont be able to boot into windows. Assuming your hard drive isnt goosed it could just be CMOS settings, at worst its a dead motherboard.
As with the other replies on here, first thing to try is resetting the CMOS, switch off your computer. There is a little plastic header which should be located very close to the silver round battery on the motherboard (you will need to open up the case), the platsic tab will occupy 2 of 3 pins, move it to the 2nd and 3rd pins (to the right usually) and wait 10 seconds, then move it back to the 1st and 2nd pins and restart your computer.
I always keep an old PS2 keyboard handy for any keyboard problems, i may have while in the BIOS/POST0 -
