Sunshine holiday recommendations

Hi All

This is a multipart q really. Just want some peoples opinions and ideas. OH and myself and another couple want to go on hol in September.

Our requirements are sun, hot, good food, beach, warm sea, bit of nightlife but not clubs really. Don't mind a long or short flight. Have done Greece (which we all love but just fancy somewhere different) and Cyprus. Don't fancy Spain, Portugal, Tunisia or Turkey, or Egypt - but open to suggestions.

We were thinking Sicily, Sardinia, or mainland Italy, or that sort of area. Or even France.

So can anyone recommend beach resort and maybe accommodation? Don't really do hotels with pools, could do a villa together.

Thanks muchly!

Shameless bumping as it got swallowed up! Anyone got a recommendation? Anyone been to Cape Verde/Verdi (sp?)?

    Hi Joho,
I would really recommend Sardinia - Alghero in particular is lovely. The town is pretty with a historic centre and lots of restaurants/bars. The beaches are also gorgeous around this stretch of the coast. You could rent a villa outside Alghero in the countryside.
Sicily is also well worth visiting, especially if any of you are into archaeology. Sorry, can't help with any beach resorts though as we stayed inland.

What about Corsica? (I've never been but it looks very nice)

Have you thought about the Gulf Coast of Florida? We often go over to the Sarasota area and last September the sea temp was in the low 80's !! You can fly with BA into Tampa, or fly into Sanford/Orlando and its about a two and a half hour easy drive. We normally stay on Siesta Key, beautiful place and beach. Lots of bargain condos/apartments available in September as it is out of season for them. We book fly/drive then our own accommodation.

Thanks all. Hadn't considered Florida at all. Will look into all the suggestions!
