Hi,

Have committed to a new bathroon with a company and have paid £2350 pound cash, it appears that they are in financial difficulties have been advised by Consumer Direct that as I have paid cash I have no comeback if they insolvent unless I have paid part of the cost on a credit card then the cc company would reimburse is this true?

So if i pay a further £50 on my cc and get a receipt this should protect me?
It pays to challenge

You need to spend at least £100 on your credit card, then the whole purchase will be covered by Section 75, and you can make a claim to the card company of the bathroom company go bust.

I don't mean to be critical but IMO its never a good idea to pay cash for something like this, you don't want them disappearing with your money without supplying the goods.
