Hi there,
We have a new laptop that is running on Vista. We have Virgin media internet and have bought a belkin wireless router.
I tried to install AVG and Avast yesterday but both 'timed out'. Could this be because It keeps asking if a want to take up the free 3 month Norton 360 trial? I haven't taken up the trial?
Any ideas?
Which is the best AV for Vista and what other protection do I need?
Thanks

Could be you need to uninstall the existing AV first. You can't have more than one AV installed at the same time."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I would remove Norton and install AVG which I use on mine running vista with no problems. Try downloading the avg say to your desktop first, uninstall the norton and then run the avg
I have nothing better to do!!!!

Use the Norton Removal Tool from here. I've used AVG, Avast and Antivir on Vista without problems. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

I also run Vista and came across what I thought was a very good deal.
Kaspersky are offering there 2007 package, Anti Virus and Firwall in one suite at half price, Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0, half price at £18.06.
If you have a look at hot deals, there is a discount code for a High Street shop, something Smith, where you can get the price for under £10.50 in total.
When they bring out the 2008 version, you get a free upgrade to the 2008 package, using whatever of the 12 month licence is left.
Not free, but to me, a very good piece of software, light on resource and come highly recomended.
Just a happy customer.
MartinBeen there, done that, now I want to do it cheaper!!0 -
