Minimum payment dates on a weekend

Its coming up for my first payment to be made on my virgin card - maximum ammount stoozed away, and with a direct debit set up from my current account for the minimum ammount (this month is the fee). The date that the Direct Debit is due to be taken is saturday 5th April. With all my other Direct Debits if they fall on the weekend they are taken on the monday, in which case my payment will be late?

Do i need to phone and change the date to the Friday? Do I need to do this each month when the Direct Debit date falls on a weekend?

Obviously I dont want to pay late and risk them swiping the 0% off me?

    Don't do anything!!!

Your payment will be taken on Monday 7th and you will not be late...if your first statement confirms the DD is set up.

At it's extreme, if your payment was due on Saturday 23rd December it would be collected by DD on Wednesday 27th December and you would still not be late.

    Cheers YB

I checked my current account online and it shows dd is set up but not a date that it would be taken. I phoned virgin and the automated service said dd to be taken on the 05/04 - I waited to get through to an operator but they were very busy

:rotfl: good save there by Yorkshire Boy ;)

Takes time for changes in direct debits to be made, company normally need to give you at least 10 days notice of any direct debit, so any changes would cancel your current direct debit and you'd miss a payment.
