Only 18 days until the next disappointment...What do you think "invest" means, then? The Latin Investire means to wrap. or enclose. Ever heard of Investment Castings?A smart investor pays no more heed to "someone I knew who bought 100 bonds and won £100 in their first draw" than to any other advice that some geezer down the pub offers him.As for your "Your truncation thing works the other way too, if you do win, even £25, with a small holding it's a good return", you're making my eyes pop !.
Sorry about your eyes, but your vision problems are probably down to something else.0 -
I have won £325 this month.
2 x £100
2 x £50
1 x £25
I have around £35k invested in them. So I have 35000 chances of winning every month. Old or new bonds doesn't come into it.1 -

Very happy with £175 on £22k - £100 + £50 + £25. Rolling year winnings to £1,325 = 6.3% (had £20k for part of the year).
Delighted that the £50 was from a batch I bought in the summer from an inheritance from my aunt - I bought my percentage of her estate of her PB holding. My first prize from that batch.1 -
£275 this month on a full holding... my best month ever (not as good as those that have posted before me with £1k wins
but I'm happy all the same!)
