I'm gonna withdraw half and get a new batch of them, as someone suggested earlier in the thread. This won't achieve anything other than taking half your bonds out of the draw for a month. The bonds you buy won't have a better chance of winning than the ones you've sold. (but it is very tempting to think they will)1 -
Yeah, I know. But I feel like I've got to try something different. I know the odds are the same, but my bonds aren't in one big block. They were 'purchased' monthly over a period of a few years until I reached the max.Section62 said:the_goon said:

Seeing how much the 50k would earn each month in interest in a savings account is frustrating. Of course if I want reliable returns, then that's what I should do. Just hoped for a slightly better return than I'm getting now on the bonds though.
It is what it is, I suppose. I feel a bit better just for having a moan about it on here.

Done that quite a few years ago, not made much difference in my case. I cashed in all of my bonds that were bought a very long time ago and bought just one block Max holding.April and May this year, no wins, not even £25 😞So, be aware, its all down to luck of the draw 🤔0

Yeah, I know the odds don't change. I'm planning on winning the million next month anyhow, so none of this will matter.jeffdavies said:Done that quite a few years ago, not made much difference in my case. I guess maybe wait for a decent win then cut your losses and go for a fixed rate instead.0

There's an opening for an app that shows people how much they would have won if they hadn't cashed their bonds in...

£425 this month.. I was just about to write it off as a non winning month.

Bit wierd, I checked on the morning of the 4th and the website said I hadn't won anything - definitely not a left-over from April, as I won then - then I got a "you've won" email later and checked this morning and it showed 2 x £100.
