A disappointing 1.1% AER equivalent over the current tax year, on max holdings.

How long though before we look back at 1.1% AER as a stonkingly good return?
  • Sorry if this has been asked before (I'm not reading through 557 pages!)
Has anyone/anyone you know, won big?

Just received an email with a drumroll. About time too. Wife and I won 13 prizes in April draw amounting to £350.
Trying to learn something new every day.

    About a week, lol.

A lot of bank savings rates are being cut to 0.01% (not a typo) which is 10p interest on £1,000.

I have £13,050 invested and have won nothing for eight months on the trot. Would be nice to win £25 in this draw. Good luck everyone 🤞

Interestingly did anyone see the high value winners today? https://www.nsandi.com/prize-checker someone won £25,000 with a holding of £7 that they purchased in 1976!

Well if that winner was in lockdown or suffering from lost income as a result of Coronavirus I hope that really lifted their day!

Oh, that will be lovely for them! I'm excited for the results. Last night just before midnight I topped up my bonds to the max (I know these won't count till June). I've been lucky so far as had my bonds for 4 months. £125 first month, then £25, the £150, then £25 so hoping to continue the pattern and get £100 ish! haha. Maybe I will get nothing! I think my results so far have had an 8% chance of getting as much as I have so I was tempted to remove most of my bonds and put in savings since surely my luck will decline, but lucky I didn't as well, the interest rates are rubbish now aren't they!
I have had almost the max in for 4 months.

Had the max in for about five months. First four months nada. Then £25/£25/£500. Very pleased with that. Gives me 1.1% and the rest of the year to improve on. We'll see tomorrow if my luck is over!
