I've had quite a few Premium Bonds for quite a long time and the prizes bear all the hallmarks of randomness.
Random does not mean evenly spaced: you'll tend to get periods when you win nowt then periods when you win a few clustered together. Though the interest rate is currently so dreadful (ie there are very few prizes being dished out) that even if you have the maximum number of bonds you might well go for many months without even a sniff of a £25 prize.
If you hold some old bonds and some new bonds and you reckon your newer ones win more prizes then look closely at the bonds you own: chances are you hold a lot more of the newer ones than of the older ones.0 -
If you've had a barren spell - someone once recommended cashing some in and then rebuying them. Seems to work for me - but I've no idea how! ( haven't won this month though- yet)...0

If it "works" it is only by chance. People who sell and buy then win will tell everyone about it, so others think ahah! People who sell and buy and don't win don't tend to brag about it. So the anecdotal evidence tends to be biased.0 -
If you've had a barren spell
You could have cashed in the bond that would have won a million if it had been in the draw."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. Don't bother doing it then.
I will continue to do so - 'cos it works for me.0 -

Senior moment there!

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
