There's an online form which allows you to withdraw using specific bond numbers. You can complete the form and submit it online. I use this for the same reason - I don't want my oldest bonds to be cashed in.

Anyone upgraded from say £1,000 to £5,000 or higher would have lost a not insignificant amount of interest if it usually takes them the best part of a year to reallocate a prize.

A friend of mine put £2000 in in 2022 and has won nothing to date. This month he won £1000.
