    Evening all

Haven't posted as we are on holiday, and looking at Martyn's location, I am probably about 2 miles away from him (if that) ;)

Just need to have a look at the motorhomes on our park to see if I can recognise him - there is a very expensive one nearby, is that you Martyn :D

oh these poor men ..... no wonder we don't get many

Well having been on earlier celebrating that I'm almost home alone one of my chicks is flying back to the nest at the weekend. she is very unhappy where she lives and has had to call the police out a number of times over the last month. She is going to move back on Friday into her teeny tiny room (the one that was earmarked for a sewing room). I have just informed the council that I am entitled to single person discount thingy on my council tax so will have to undo that. it will make for a bit of a commute for her to get to work but I will just be happy to see her safe and sound - please feel free to throw these words back at me in about 1.7 weeks when I'm moaning about how two grown women shouldn't be made to live with each other
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

I shall retire to the study, light my favourite briar and consider tthe offers. The winner will be notified in due course

Seriously, thanks all. I have really enjoyed this evening and hope everyone else has. You've lifted me out of my despair and made me feel okay about myself again.

Thank you very much for that.

And if knuckles are to be rapped, rap mine. I'll accept the blame and the consequences, whatever they are, but if it's an Errol Flynn-type epaulette ripping, sword-snapping, "never darken this doorstep again" punishment, bear in mind that this thread has done wonders for my self-esteem. I also get the feeling thet a lot of other people enjoyed it as well. If me being asked to leave is the price, it was worth every single character for me.

Well, I DID originally write this post in response to a sensible on-topic post from Discount-Diva - but she's edited out the bit I was responding to! :D

Discount-Diva - while we're back on topic I'll say that I have cooked up a big batch of creamy mushroom pasta from the Gary Rhodes "Keeping it Simple" book.

And responded to an ad on my local Freecycle from somebody about a mile from me who's giving away a hardly-used Russell Hobbs hand-mixer. Haven't heard back yet, but a mixer of some description is near the top of my wish list so I hope I get it!

And (not very old style at all) I went onto the Bravissimo website to discover that the dress I really really wanted but which sold out within hours seems to have come back into stock in my size :T :j They must have had some returns, as I emailed them the other day and was told there wouldn't be any more coming into stock. It is quite expensive but, along with a couple of other things I've bought recently, gives me a really good capsule wardrobe for work, and means I shouldn't need any more clothes for aaaaaaaaaaaaaages :)
