This is one that has thrown me (see other threads). The gas meter used to charge you the first z kWh at xp and the rest at yp.
Now it seems to be charging all at yp, then taking z times (x-y) at 2am, this is the 34p. It is being looked at, but so long as you use more than 670 kWh/ quarter ( 3quarters of a m3/day) it should be ok.
Apart from well publicised price changes, the price doesn't change with the season.
Are you sure you don't use more gas in the winter? Have you checked you readings? Even if your CH was set to the same temp all year, it would have to work harder in the winter, and so use more gas.

I dont use the CH anymore and the meter taking 34p a day is charging me £7 per month for not using the gas.

in march 2007 I credited just £10 to the meter but this year march 2008 I have credited £21 to the meter and don't even use the CH.

If you don't use gas at all, you may be better getting the meter taken out altogether - one less thing to worry about.
Call up/email with a meter reading and ask for the credit back, if you've not used anything the billing system should show a credit.
