Wirelessly network 3 PC's

I want to wirelessly network 3 PC's in my house. I want the main PC in my office and two further PC's in my daughters bedrooms(all rooms on same floor). I don't want to go for the cheaper cable option as I don't want cables running all over the place. I just need a simple list of what I will require(preferably recommended products). The girls want to be able to access the internet simultaeneously. I tried Dongles but they were a bit of a disaster so I really need some help on this one.

You need a wireless modem/router and either three dongles or three PCI cards for inserting in a PC Slot inside each computer.

I suspect the problem, from your brief outline, is you don't have a wireless modem/router. Get one from Belkin, Linksys, D-link as these are respected brands. The Linksys is easy to set up and configure. Expect a total of 150 quid max if you shop around a little for 3 cards and the wireless modem/router. Minimise the slight change of incompatibility by buying cards and wireless modem/router from same company.

You could try and get the wireless modem/router working with your dongles. No reason why there should be a problem. Read the instructions and use any Wizards as will make life easy!

Remember you need a WIRELESS MODEM ROUTER not just a Router and not just a wireless router. 11mbps speed is fine as that is much faster than broadband ... though most kit is now the faster 54mbps ... if prices similar get the latter. If you can save loads going for the slower speed, do so. I did and very happy!
