I was duped by this years ago - i was 18 at the time... i am now 34!!! I bought a really cheap nasty and rubbish 'camera' for about £25 quid (lot of money to me at the time... well alot now!!) but it taught me a lesson if it looks too good to be true it is - that lesson has saved me lots of money including £1,000 when i was the only person at work not to get involved in the 'Hearts women empowering women' chaing of empowerment that went round our area a couple of years ago.

These con artists work because they are brilliant at what they do and everyone loves a bargain. I wasnt buying to sell on - i genuniely through i was getting a gameboy (the must have at the time... something i had wanted for ages) at a brilliant price - the one i went to was advertised in the local paper. Unfortunately you always feel more protected than you are i thought that as it was advertised in the newspaper it must be o.k.... i was young and naive.

Thanks op for posting hopefully it will stop someone else loosing money.
Debt free May 2016 (without the support of MSE forum users that would never have been possible - thank you all)

unfortunately these "people" only accept cash.
That's what I thought, Dave, which is why I said there's not much chance of the OP getting his money back - unfortunately.

I agree with the "people" quote, by the way.

We stood mesmerised once in Weymouth Market when a chap was doing this. Inside the mystery packages were five year old Guiness Book of Records.
A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

    one life, live it!

I asked if you'd paid cash 'cos I though £200 was a lot to have in your back pocket (well, it IS a lot for me to have!).

As suggested by the latest poster, do ring your credit card company.
I'm not up on financial disputes, but I believe you have certain rights when paying by credit card.

Have you spoken to Trading Standards about these people?
I'd do so straight away so you can tell the credit card company what they say.

Good luck - and let us know how you get on.
