Barcelona Airport to Salou resort - cheap transfers

Anyone help me with a 5 adult/4 children transfer from Barcelona Airport on May 25th at 9pm returning on June 3rd around 3:30pm (ish), the cheapest option i've found so far is around 30 quid each (270 quid in total) bit on the harsh side and if anyone knows of any cheaper operators or methods (as the trains stop at 8:30pm) it would be appreciated

There is a railway station in Salou, you could take the train from Barcelona.

The trains are very cheap indeed. Direct train from Barcelona Airport - Barcelona Sants, and then direct train from Barcelona Sants to Salou.

Doesn't take all that long either.

The Barcelona - Salou section will cost around EUR60 for all 9 of you (maybe less because of the kids) each way, and the airport - Barcelona bit is way cheaper than that, under EUR30 for all of you.

So that would be a total cost of around EUR180 (or less) which is about £150.

It is definitely going to be a bit more hassle (and time) than getting a direct transfer; but it depends how much you want to save the money. It also depends where you are going in Salou as you might need to get a few taxis from the station to the hotel.

I've now (d'oh) read your point about the trains stopping at 8.30pm. That is a problem.

Have you looked at hiring a vehicle? I'm not sure that it would work out much more expensive than your transfers, and gives the flexibility of transport whilst you are out there. It might even be cheaper to hire two normal sized cars rather than one bus (it often is).
