Hey,

I'm looking for train tickets from Bradford Interchange to London Kings Cross.

Looking to travel down on 4/4/08 and return on 13/4/08, both legs departing after 6pmish

Preliminary search on Virgin trains website shows a Saver Return for £79.90

Anyone know of a better option?

Also when checking for single tickets, option of NXEC tickets come up and would total about £57, is this the way to go. whats the deal with NXEC

You seem to be doing things right.
The £57 deal is, as you say, an NXEC thingy. To get this price you must pay in advance and travel on the NXEC trains specified when booking. That price is not available on all NXEC trains. Also, the sooner you book the cheaper the fare... i.e. the cheaper tickets will be sold if you leave it too late.

Book it as Leeds to London then pay for the Bradford Interchange to Leeds separately

Then you'll see a fare of under £40 for Leeds to London & back and a fiver for the Bradford - Leeds legs

If you go for these tickets, book through nxeastcoast.co.uk for a 10% discount.

    Coolio

    Booked the tickets for £44.50

Kinda nice but unexpected that the ticket booking sites actually suggest using single tickets instead of promoting the return ticket which would have cost £79.90
