Car Insurance advice, please
Please can someone offer advice re the following situation: a family friend used to work for Rover, and had been leasing a car for a monthly fee that included insurance cover.
However, he is now (obviously) unemployed, and is having trouble finding a job within cycling/public transport distance, so has decided to purchase a small car to improve his chances of getting a job. Problem is, will he have to pay the full wack on insurance?
I understand that there were two claims made on his insurance, neither of which were his fault (1 - car stolen, and later found abandoned and damaged; 2 - child ran straight out into the road without looking; child fortunately OK, but some damage to car), but which resulted in the insurance company having to pay out.
It is doubtful whether he could now get written confirmation of this, as the company has folded ... or does anyone know any different? And if he can't get confirmation (or even if he can), does he have to start with zero no claim, or will they take into account his percentage no claim prior to having a lease car? And does anyone know if there are any particular companies that are more 'understanding' with regard to his situation?
I know that there will be many ex-Rover workers in this position, so hope that someone out there can advise.
Thanks in advance!

If it's cheap, I'm cheerful!
