High or not!!

Hi I'm currently living in a 3 bed detached house with my OH & Son (15). We are currently paying £55pm for Electricity and £48pm for Gas. All our heating is gas this goes on for a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening, however the room themometer is always at 20oC the hot water is on all the time, and we cook on a a gas hob. Our Electrical appliances include dishwasher (used once a day), tumble dryer (used approx once a day), washing machine (used once a day) my sons Xbox which is on constantly on the weekend and about 3 hours at night and most nights one of our computers is on.

Do you think I'm paying too much? My current supplier is EDF, should I switch supplier? Or am I just using to much!! Any advise would be appreciated.

Stating what you pay is not a good indicator.

This is because you could be paying too little and be running up a debit balance, or paying too much and running up a credit balance.

You need to check your annual consumption in kWh to see if you are using too much. The UK average is 20,500kWh for gas and 3,300kWh for electricity. However this covers all types and sizes of property.

When you have your annual consumption in kWh(not what you pay) you can use the comparison websites to see which deal is best.

From what you have stated I suspect your consumption is well above average.
