My nationwide ATM card does not work a lot of the time in Canada so be prepared to go to different banks to try and get it to work.0

Alternatively, slap yourself around the face, remind yourself that you are on holiday, use another debit card and consider the couple of quid it costs you to do so money well spent. The MSE Dictionary

Last year, I did Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal and managed to draw cash from every ATM I tried. I always carry a back up card anyway just in case but didnt come across any problems. If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

I use my debit card all of the time and never have a problem at a bank ATM, credit union ATM's don't work with my debit card though and credit unions look like banks!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

Nationwide didn't work for me in Bank of Montreal, (in Toronto and Niagara) but worked in other banks I tried no problem at all. (Scotiabank, TD, RBC)
Watch out for private machines - make sure the machine has a bank logo. (Not sure if the private machines charge, but I know the bank ones don't)
Have a fab time!0 -
The last time I was in Canada I found that although most ATMs accepted all cards, there were some machines that only accepted VISA or only accepted Mastercard, which is not something I have found elesewhere.0

And remember that Mastercard is more common than Visa there too!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

Yeah, Bank of Montreal didn't work for me either.0
