Bank holiday mean direct debits taken a day later?

Hi

Since it's bank holiday today, does that mean direct debits are taken a day later? Money is in the bank Wednesday for Npower direct debit, which is due to be taken on Thursday (but is often taken at least a day before) ... money have now is needed for something else, but can't risk leaving too little in the bank, before money goes in on Wednesday for bills, incase npower try to take the direct debit tomorrow. Basically wondering if bank holiday affects things!

Best regards, Cat

No, only direct debits due over the weekend and Bank Holiday will be taken on the first working day afterwards. Any due on Wednesday will be taken on Wednesday.

Many thanks Jill  It's just that sometimes my online bank statement doesn't instantly show direct debits taken ... statements show that npower often does take the money on the 26th when it's due on the 27th, so I may well be okay to trust it will be taken out on Wednesday ... just wanted to be absolutely certain! Thanks again.

    Cheers, Cat
