Blocking Spam Emails.

As of late I have been receiving quite a bit of spam into the inbox of my Yahoo account.

The emails seem to come from varying senders and all with the sender ID of "Question It". This must have been something that I accidentally registered onto, does anyone know how to un-register from this and prevent these emails being sent to me?

Me too. OE puts **SPAM** in the title. Unfortunately some work related emails I receive regularly also come with the spam warning on them, so I daren't set up a spam filter in case important emails get in there. In the past I have lost a few and lost some income.

Most of the spam emails I receive offer me either Viagra, or a wondrous penis extension. Shame I can't take advantage of these fantastic offers as I'm female.

Spam by definition is unsolicited and therefore illegal. Which is why you'll find no unsubscribe or deregistration works and in fact has the opposite effect of attracting even more spam because you essentially confirm your address is live. There are plenty of spam filters etc if you use an email client. If you just use webmail there's not much you can do. You certainly can't stop the spam being sent. Personally I get no spam without any filtering by using more than just one email address, that way you have complete control over who gets which email address. E.g. Amazon may have my email address as amazon@mydomain.co.uk etc. I can just delete the entire address without affecting the others if it starts attracting spam and of course I also have proof of which company has illegally passed on my email address.

    superscraper is spot on.

It is unwise to try to unregister from any spam source. You should be able to set Yahoo mail up to automatically place emails from a particular sender straight in the 'spam box' or even have it deleted straight away.

Thanks to all for their responses, before reading here I un-subscribed to fanbox which seemed to be the author of these emails which may have been a mistake due to some of above responses.

When you open your yahoo mail, the menu at the top of the email with the Reply or Forward tags, has a tag named Spam, simply click on that, and it will send it to your spam folder, any further emails from the sender should automatically go into your Spam folder.

My Yahoo gets riddled with Spam, but I generally only use it as a spam mailer, my business and personal emails I have sent through my NTL a\c, however the occasional Spam might slip through the net, its easily dealt with using my Outlook.
