I used one of the Nectar vouchers against some sale menswear in Edinburgh the other day, they did however have a photocopy of a notice saying there was a mistake with the vouchers, that the £10 off £25 had a minimum spend of £50 and that it wouldn't be honoured on less than that.

I feel this happens a bit too often with Debenhams, and the way they label sale prices with extra percentages off on certain days can be read so many different ways it's difficult to prove what the end price should be if a person on the till refuses to apply all the discounts.

You're joking? The £10 off £25 is an error? What with them completely denying that they had NO Aramis deodorants when I went in with my voucher the week before last - she didnt even BOTHER to look in the drawer where they were, despite my suggestion - I have just about had enough of Debenhams:mad:

Last Saturday I went to Debenhams to use my nectar vouchers. I spent 40 GBP at Estee Lauder Counter. Got Estee gift time set and brush for free. I asked the SA to use my voucher for £10 off £25 spending. She said she can scan both vouchers for me.So I got £15 discount off £40 spending. Paid only £25 with 3 Estee cosmetic items and 2 free GWP sets.:T

    I might be a lucky person :j:j:j

Debenhams have their 50% sale at the moment. Anyone know if there will be a blue cross (20%) to follow (this week?)?

Top spot! Debenhams currently has a 50% sale online on most departments. Before picking up any big bargains make sure you use a comparison site like Pricerunner to check you're getting a bargain. For more details read the Cheapest Online Shopping article.

Well I went today but wasn't really impressed. My local store (Leicester) has had a revamp and I never seem to 'drop on' now.

I shall go back when the blue cross starts and see what tempts me. :D
  • Blue cross now starts from next Wed, stickering will start from that day, I'm guessing it will take all day to sticker, so some items not reduced till late in day??
Most store should let you reserve sale items.

Notice to all stores that Nectar vouchers (£5 0ff £25 and £10 off £50) cannot be used with sale items! I do not understand this myself!
Please note staff are as upset as you about stopping nectar points and nectar vouchers not used on sale! I'm sure whoever was serving you was looking forward to collecting/spending as much as you were!!

  • sorry dumb as I am. Is this blue cross sale in stores only?
Poster-A Little Stressed!! you mention something about reservation, how is that done please?

Take item to till (Probably Debenhams own rather than concession (Jane Norman/Morgan etc) and ask if you could please reserve for 7 days. They should scan the items, take your name and give you a ticket listing your items. Then when the sale has started, even though your items have the higher price, it will scan at the sale price on the tills.

Concession sales will not have the same dates or percentage mark-downs as Debenhams own stock, the have their own calanders!

Just to give an indication of sale items - I got a Jeff Banks suit for £99.50; half price (100% wool). My wife got a dress and skirt half price also, but don't know the price/make... because she's my wife! But on the whole, some good bargains for sure. I saw a Jasper Conran jacket half price and will wait to see if this is reduced further.
    Never say never...
