When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Morning folks - what a morning we've been having here in WC scotland.
It started off a lovely day so i thought i'd get the washing hung out and DS2 outside for a sleep in his pram. Just put his jacket on him, got the pram out for him to go in it and the next thing the sky is grey and it's snowing like the billy-oh. Looks like the clothes horse is out and the TD on for a wee while.
Today I have....
checked online banking
done piggy clicks and comps - now have enough for £30 voucher for myself
checked freecycle for items of interests - nowt
cleared out the kitchen cupboards and binned loads of stuff, just about to tackle the fridge and the oven.
switched the TV off till after lunch and have ds1 play with his play doh for a change rather than watching Nick Jnr all day long. He's been a little beesom so no telly for a week
I think I am going to start the slimming world diet again so i will dig out the books, get some recipe ideas and meal plan for this week
Can't be bothered doing anything else really. Got the docs again tomorrow to see if she will give me another line for work. Really can't face going back at all just now but i feel nervous asking for one. I've only ever been signed off work twice - the first time was when i was pregnant with DS1 cos i bled a lot and this is the second time. Can they refuse to sign you off?
Oh forgot to add, i've asked for a refund on a pair of shoes i bought on ebay. They are nothing like the picture and are falling to bits. The were listed as worn a few times but they are very much well worn. I've not heard anything back yet but i suppose it was only this morning.Official DFW nerd no 551 - proud to be dealing with my debts

Hi everyone! Everyone is having such a productive day! We are going to go and spend the day in the pub, not exactly cost neutral electricity v beer costs but I should have some birthday-eve drinks bought for me!0

Well I've had a good start to the day.
We advertised my husbands speakers on Saturday and someone has just picked them up and paid us £150 cash for them. I always hated them as they took up so much room in our little lounge but it took a while to convince my H.
On the back of this, my H has come downstairs with his collection of dance and hard house CDs and said I can list them all on Amazon - there are a few ones that have listed at an excellent price, but will check out ebay as well as some are going for quite a bit on there.
Have hung clothes on horse to dry.
Have written list for food we need to go and buy for the week.
Have spent the morning between listing CDs digging up tree/bush in garden to clear room for growing fruit and veg this year. In preparation I've planted some courgette seeds and strawberry plants.
After food shopping we may have lunch out paid for curtosey of the speaker money, but am just about to see if there are any online vouchers to cut the costs.
Have a great day everyone.0 -
I am just getting back into the DFW way! So far I have
Listed a couple of items on ebay - towards my holiday spending money fund!
Declined a shopping trip with my mum, to avoid any spending temptation!
Used up eggs in fridge as they were close to use by date
Done my meal plan for the week using freezer/storecupboard so I dont have to go near a shop!
Now I'm off to clean my car out ready for its MOT on Wednesday EEEEEK!
Have a good day everyone xx0 -

I've got a Breadmaker too, and it's so easy to use. I must get round to using it again, I've made a lovely Madeira Cake with it (containing cherries). Yummy.
