I picked up a lovely A4 size hardbacked book in Lidl today for £2.99. It is called Presents from the Kitchen: Preserves - Pickles - Marinades. It has got some really nice things in it, that you can either keep or give as presents.
Chapters:
Jams and Marmalades
Stewed & Preserved Fruit
Preserved Vegetables
Mushroom, Egg & Cheese Specialities
Chutneys, seasonings & Relishes
Herbal Oils & Seasoned Vinegars
Liqueurs, Juices & Schnapps
Meat & Fish
Well worth the £2.99. Think of all the things you can make ahead for gifts for Christmas.:j

Anyone live near a LIDL's and can get me a copy? Please PM me if you can.
Edit - Thanks Alison_B for working out the postage, @ 1kg and £3.64 I think I'll wait and see if I can find it when I getback.
Thanks again :T0 -
Yes, I'd ask the same question as se999, I would love one of these books and would be delighted if someone could post one to me.0
-
Just a quick note - the book weighs nearly 1 kg - so postage would be £3.64.0

I was thinking the same thing myself.
Sometimes I think I ought to move house just to be near a waitrose or a lidls

If anyone is interested, I picked up a book for £2.99 from Book Sale called "The Complete Book Of Preserves & Pickles" which covers most of what is listed above. Might be worth a look if anyone likes making pickles etc.
ISBN 1-84477-016-8A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0 -
I contacted Alison_B about getting hold of the book for me but she won't be going back there for a while so if anyone else is Lidl shopping and is prepared to buy it and post it I'll be happy to repay the expenses0
