no doorbell illumination

The doorbell used to illuminate so you could see where you are at night. Its suddenly no longer illuminating but still rings ok. Any ideas what happens to these things?

I am guessing the lamps blown ?
The illuminted ones are usually mains operated via a transformer rather than battery operated as obviously the light draws power.
On the plus side they dont cost much.....0 -
Im thinking along those lines as well, Im going to pull the front off it tomorrow and have a look - it doesnt look like an expensive doorbell lol0
