I-Pod Shuffle will not sync ?

Hi guys,
I have purchassed a new I-Pod shuffle (2GB) in addition to my fairly new 1GB shuffle.
The 1Gb item works fine on my PC but I cannot get the new 2GB to work and an error message appears stating: "The i-pod cannot be synced. The required disc cannot be found".
This appears to be strange because the i-pod appears in 'My Computer' and also the i-tunes header states 'Syncing I-Pod, Do not disconnect'.
Any ideas as it is baffling me?

Hi guys, I wanted to nudge as the i-pod is still not working.
Further investigation reveals:
1. The Shuffle is recognised in the Devices area (Left side of i-tunes)
2. When trying to sync i-pod, the following message appears 'The i-pod cannot be synched. The required disc cannot be found'.
I seem to have been told in one area that it is recognised, but cannot be synched.
The i-pod works fine on a coleagues computer.
I have downloaded i-tunes again and the same happens.
So confusing, help!0 -

I have exactly the same problem with my brand new ipod shuffle (1GB). It appears to be recognised everywhere except for synching. I've even tried running the set of diagnostic tests and it passes them all until it gets to:
**** iPhone/iPod Touch Sync Tests ****
One or more sync tests failed.
If anyone can tell me what I can do I'd be really grateful! Should I take it back to the place I bought it?“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”
