I take some out with me. I just run one under a tap as I usually find somewhere I can wash my hands anyway. When I'm done I put them inside the nappy and put them all in a bag. I use a carrier bag at the moment because my hubbie threw away my washable bag I had for them by mistake.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
  • We used paper liners while our son's poo was loose. We went onto fleece when the poo was solid on a regular basis, from 2 onwards. We found it too mucky until then. Mind you any paper liners which were only weed on went though the wash in a net.

Anyone know where I can get 'the snip' done on the cheap!?
  • Oh Gods - you alot are really putting me off the idea of babies now!!!!!

BTW - my mum still has my nappy bucket (blue plastic with a white lid). When she started coming camping (only a few years ago, at the age of 60!), she brings it with her so she doesn't have to go as far as the loos during the night!!!!!

Well, there's probably a waiting list, but AFAIK it's a normal NHS procedure in the UK - unlike in France where because there is no 'medical' reason for it (since men don't get pregnant), it was until very recently classed as 'mutilation' and was therefore against the law!

  • I'm going back a lot of years now, but we always had a bucket of "Napisan" on the go, cleaned the terry squares a treat before they went into the wash. also these liner thingies are they simply non-woven fabric - Like the cheap white garden fleece you get from garden centres???? :j

My eldest was a dirty little sod and one of my morning jobs was to empty him out of his sleep suit - the ones with feet sown on the ends, you have guess it - He used to fill it and sometimes all the poo was coming out of the neck hole, I used to get the job of cleaning him up, so on with the margolds! Held him up by one ankle and hosed him down with the shower. He was a so and so for producing "artwork" on the walls too.

ooh never thought to use garden fleece as a liner, i only tend to use it when sewing

no, the fleece most people use as liners nowadays is the type clothing/blankets are made out of, so fairly thick and synthetic - although if you want really soft fleece, then malden mills windpro, tends to be the favourite

It's great when you can look back and laugh at these things......but, blimey, they weren't funny at the time! I remember times when I thought that my house would never lose the smell of either poo or sick.

  • Most babies are the same - All spew and poo, I remember burping my younger one and he was across my shoulder when out it all came and went down my neck, another occasion he filled up my shirt pocket. But don't ya just love em eh??? :grouphug:

When I look at them now 6' 2" and built like brick outhouses - I think to myself "another few years and I will get revenge - When you have to start changing my nappies for me" The joys of my second childhood beckons LOL
