Best way to send money to Australia?

Just won a couple of auctions from an Australian seller, somehow didn't notice that they didn't accept Paypal. Unfortunately, my usual preferred solution in these kind of situations, Auctionchex.com, doesn't seem to send to Oz.

I'm wondering now what the best way to send the money is - a bank transfer is probably going to cost £8-£12 which is a bit more than I bargained for. I could buy some Aussie dollars and send them in the post, which is another way around it - but it will take a while to get there!

Anyone got any good ideas for other ways round this?

Most bank transfers unfortunately do cost around that amount. There are some other companies that do money transfers which will cost around the same.

Sending items through the post can be as quick as 3 or 4 days if that is the path you decide to go.

I don't know of any other options though.

You could ask your bank how much they charge for an IMO (international moeny order) would be cheaper than a bank transfer but still has to be posted. The bank transfer is the quickest safest option.
