Overpaid from work

I know exactly how they've come up with the figure, as I've been paid for 1.5 months that I did not work. But I thought I worked a month in hand, so didn't even realise I'd been overpaid. I can't afford £100 a month, that's for sure. Would it be worked out on how much me AND my partner have, or how much just I have to pay? If just me, the mortgage comes out of her account, but technically I pay half, so would that be accounted for?0

As Ches says, ask them for a detailed statement of what you received and when. I presume you wasn't given it in one lump sum so you could agree to mirror their overpayments. But unfortunatly this isn't something you can ignore.0

Could I wait until they find me at my new address? I did give them my new address whilst still in employment with them, but they just never updated their records.0

You could for now and start saving so when they do catch up with you you are ready!0

How long ago was the overpayment made?0

Only at the end of Jan and Feb!0

You are probably going to have to repay it, apart from anything else have you thought about a reference from them?
However I would drag it out while you save some money: ask them for a breakdown of what you owe & why. Why did you not get payslips? was it because you moved or was they not supplied. They are obliged to supply them.
Start off with an offer to repay as low as you dare then barter with them.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -
Beside everything else unless you pay the money back then your P45 will be incorrect as it will show the ACTUAL figures that you have been paid.
This will have a knock effect to your P60 and possibly even for the tax you have paid in the 2007/2008 tax year.:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Not that I am advising you to do this but..
About 10 years ago I worked for a company for about a year (large company) I left then the following month they paid me a months wages into my bank account.
Being young and foolish I spent it, they sent me a letter saying they had paid it in error and requesting it back. I ripped up the letter threw it in the bin and never heard a word from them since.0 -
